I've been using the battery since I received it a few weeks ago. I've noticed that the battery does not seem to have the same charge retention of the original. When the my macbook gets close to the end of the charge I usually get a warning to plug-in but for some reason this battery does not alert the computer and it will just shut down into sleep mode with no warning. Again I don't know if it's something with the battery but it's something that the original MacBook Apple battery never did. The Color of the casing is a different color from the MacBook casing itself and because it's on the bottom of the computer I don't really care but it's not the same. The charge indicator on the battery is not as well designed as the original battery. Overall the battery works but you get what you pay for.

I'm typically wary of after-market replacement parts and often with good reason. And after ordering the non-Apple replacement battery I remained skeptical waiting for it to arrive. However, now, after several weeks of use, it would appear that my concerns were groundless in this case. Other than some minor cosmetic differences (the replacement is slightly shinier), the only points of distinction between the new and old batteries are the more mechanical touch to the battery check button (works just as well, though) and the fact that it doesn't fit quite as tightly as the OEM battery. Not loose, just not as seamlessly snug. Although after it decided to blow its innards out through its no-longer-snug seams, the original Apple battery didn't fit all that well either.
The question of longevity is yet to be answered, and since I've just replaced the old 17" MacBook Pro with a new one (2.5, 350 gigs, 4 gig RAM, 6 meg L2 cache) that answer may not come for a while. Where the old MacBook Pro batteries (both) gave about 3.25 hours of use at my settings from a full charge, the MacBook Pro gives me a REAL 5.25 hours of use, so we may be talking, you should excuse the phrase, apples and oranges in terms of batteries.

The finish is a little different,(shinier) than the Macbook original, but it fits perfectly and seems to work just fine. I think it was way worth saving 40%. Thumbs up!
